Trips in 2007

At the end of June 2007 Kari and I went on a short Northeast Washington sightseeing trip. Just like at our previous excursion, the weather was great again. Most times the sun was out with the exception of some dark clouds and rain for about two hours around the area of Coulee Dam on Friday afternoon. Otherwise it was pretty hot during the daytime, especially around Coulee Dam, Dry Falls, and Gingko Petrified Forest. Kari, who had not seen this kind of rugged area before, was very impressed. She said that you could think at times you’re on a different planet.

The first week of May 2007 I toured the Olympic Peninsula with Kari. We had great weather all the time. Most times the sun was out and it was quite warm. It rained only a few times and the rain showers were only short-lived. We traveled on Hwy 101 and 20 to Port Townsend, which is a nice place to visit. Thereafter we drove on Hwy 112 to Neah Bay where the access road lies through the Makah Reservation to the parking place at Cape Flattery. A neat board walked picturesque trail with bridges across wetlands for about 3/4 of a mile through the forest leads finally to Cape Flattery, which is a great place to visit. Another splendid place to visit is the Pacific beach along Hwy 101 at Kalaloch whose coastal scenery is wild with spectacular views.
